14 „Secrets” of Happiness

This is where we will talk about these other rules of happiness that we can connect with the other exercices and secrrets :

1.       Be more active and keep busy
Ikigai
Studies with men and women in retirement homes
This is the other place

The next  is discussed at l;arge in Relationships and the Social support sessions, besides, we will have practical activities available

2.       Spend more time socializing
- social support
- in practice you will have a number of choices that we offer

This could be connected with Flow and the fact that we need meaning in what we do, PERMA and this is one condition for peak experience

3.       Be productive at meaningful work
             Flow, not on the couc, but when challenged
            PERMA
             
4.       Get better organized and plan things out
- makes sense that you need to plan for your meetings,
- the kids getting to school on time

5.       Stop worrying
- there is no possibility to reach Nirvana when you worry
Sometimes over spilled milk
ABCDE method of changing the mind for the better- in more detail in further discussions

6.       Lower your expectations and aspirations

- when we expect to much from a film, book, person it could become a great dissapointment
- the 4 minute mile is the reverse

7.       Develop positive, optimistic thinking
- people who are positive and optimistic live longer
- Have healthier lives
- Their professional carrers are more succesful
- the relationships in which they engage are also more meaningful

8.       Get present orientated

– Carpe diem
- FLOW

9.       Work on healthy personality

It is common sense that people with a charming, healthy personality are the ones we prefer

10.   Develop an outgoing, social personality
-social support
Similar somewhat to and conditional for rule 2

11.   Be yourself
-we are tempted to present a better, but false image to the others

12.   Eliminate negative feelings and problems
- if for no other reason, then because when you are negative, you can’t be also positive
But negative individuals ahve everything going worse for them

13.   Close relationships are the number one source of happiness
             underlines rule 2, 10
             
14.   Value happiness

-When you realize you are happy, you become...even happier!!
